subject: Which C++ Compiler?

  I'm inclined not to.

Rationale : OS2PROG is carried worldwide. Different vendors have
different international sales/support policies, so more often than not
the local sales/support telephone number would be the one that would
  have to be used.

The telephone number that you supplied was a very good example,
because is useless for anyone outside of the United State.

As it happens, Metaware and Watcom will accept international enquiries
at their U.S. offices. Borland and IBM will not, however.

If you look at the bumf that comes with Borland C++, you will see a
sheet detailing all of their offices around the world. There are
quite a lot of them, and I'm not willing to expand the size of the
Pros and Cons list by such a large amount.

I did think of including postal and telephone information at one
stage, but since all of the vendors answer e-mail, I didn't think it
  that worthwhile.

  Definitely not.

It's far too difficult to collate prices worldwide, especially given
the multitude of special discounts, student pricing, international
exchange rates, and so forth. And there's nothing worse than an
  out-of-date price list.

( As an example, it turned out to be cheaper for me to import Metaware
High C++ direct from Metaware and pay the import duty, that it would
have done to buy it from Grey Matter here in the U.K.. )

There's a line between providing useful information, and hand-holding.
Anyone who wants prices can damn well use the contact addresses that
  are included, and *ask*.
