Hi Mark:

Thanks for the links! I tried I few that were on the
HP website to no avail, so I decided to see if the 
floppy had some sort of mechanical problem (I'm an
electronic engineer....the kind that fixes things!).

Sure enough, the bottom "read/write head" within the
floppy was torn off, so off to Ebay I went. Found an
original drive for $9.95 :)

Thanks for taking the time to do the search, and I'll
try them out once the *new* drive arrives.
