The Braves traded Peg Dietrich to the Pirates for saying:
PD> "Bad" isn't the word to describe the Tigers' season.
I wouldn't use that word. Detroit HAD to do something after Sparky had
stagnated that team. Detroit isn't building a juggernaut, however, they ARE
building a team that's going to better than what Anderson put on the field in
the past few years. I remember when people were laughing at the Cowboys when
they went 1-15 and they won the Super Bowl three years later. I saw a lot
more progress in that 1-15 season than I saw during the 3-13 season under
Landry when people said "At least they're playing hard for Landry." Detroit
got rid of a lot of high-priced, non-producing talent and you have to expect
that they'll take their lumps.
