John Maddox Roberts. I've seen 4 books so far in the SPQR series.
I've heard rumors of a fifth volume in hardcover, but have never
laid eyes on one.
His most recent work has been some Conan novels, published by Tor Books. I
believe he also participated in the mystery series done in the Forgotten
Realms universe (and why those were published in hardcover, I'll never
understand....)
