MBSE was designed to be installed in /opt.  The author specifies that and it 
was explained to me that doesn't break the LFS that way either.  I have /opt 
installed on a separate 320GB hard drive for ease of backup and the ability to 
switch distros if need be without totally breaking my MBSE install.
