Try Nautical reasoning. Darwin is 3 weeks away . Valdivosok is ?5 days?
away. I seem to recall, India is 3 weeks and another 3 from that is the gulf?
Guam is 5 days (maybe 4.5? Maybe 5.5?). Yokosuka is 3.
It fun to try to recall them but fact is some of that has to do with:
Currents, and route used. It can take a grunch longer going one way, than the
other (remeber old math classes? We aint footing it on a stable surface).
If I am going forward at the speed of 100feet per minute on a surface that is
going also forward 20 feet per minute, I'm gonna get there faster. If i am
going 'forward' at a rate of 100 feet per minute but the surface is going
'backward' at a rate of 20 feet per minute, I aint getting there as soon.
Oh small correction. I think Darwin is more than 3 weeks but we never go
direct to there. We have stuff we do at various spots along the way. Got a
major speed bump of 'rough seas' along the way normally too which makes it a
memorable trip on a small ship. To me, Iwo Jima, is between Ssebo and Darwin
but I bet a map will make that non-sensical. Like, ask me how to get to
Yokosuka and unless I stop to think, my automatic reaction is via Okinawa
(grin).
