With this setting you do not give yourself much scope for the gains to be 
made by v42bis data compression. 
As stated in a previous message I got 12,000 cps on a large text file 
recently with the port at 112,000. With a port speed on 38400 your maximum 
will be reduced to about 40000 cps.
