You have to take the que from her. You should be able to see that within
10 to 15 minutes and go with it. Since she is the one that is the student
you need to fill the needs she needs at that time. We are all like that.
Some days we need a very very relaxed atmosphere and at other times we
need to be more serious. You are the one that needs to adjust to what she
may need. Things will fall into place. Requirements can be done in a
relaxed atmosphere. Forget about the requirements and try a laugh or two.
Try writing a paragraph on her favorite subjects or have her read a book
that she wants to read. Take her grocery shopping and have to budget the
grocery list. These are things that will help make it more fun and yet
get your requirements in. Science can be watching a show on whales on
the Discovery channel. Take a walk and talk about the environment and
how they all work together. Go to the Museum. Rent movies, biographies,
civil ware, world war II, or movies based on discrimination such as
Nazi's and the Jew, Blacks and Whites, Martin Luther King. Alot can be
done. Maybe discuss with her what she would like to do in a particular
subject. Kids tend to have a little more immagination than we do, but
you'll get the hang of it.
