subject: Any Proggers here?

Hello world.
What is happening here? People are trying to sell classic rock albums,
talking about off-topic (Kiss, for crissakes) or at best marginal Prog rock
bands. I'm not sure I've seen more than 2 or 3 on topic messages in weeks.
Are people just lurking and letting the echo degenerate, or die? Has everyone
gone?
Here are my most recent prog/ near prog purchases. Maybe we can stir up some
discussion.
Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn Certainly one of his best CD's - I found it used at
a good price.
Lisa Gerrard - The Mirror Pool. I'm finding that this gets off to a slow
start, but before long kicks into gear. Every bit as good as any of the Dead
Can Dance stuff.
Eloy - Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes. This isn't quite what I expect from
Eloy. It is, of course, very well done, but it is 'Eloy does Pink Floyd'. It
seems to me a strange thing to do, as Eloy are such a great band doing their
own thing. I own albums chronologically on either side of this one with no
hint of this trend.
Cocteau Twins - Victoriaville. I hadn't tried them before, but finally picked
this one up. Very Enya'ish it seems to me. I like it but wonder if this is
typical of their style.
Incredible String Band - Wee Tam/ The Big Huge . This is to replace the LP's.
Excellent, quirky music.
Geez - this list even seems pretty marginal. Not to worry, I have some stuff
in the mail (Area, Minimum Vital, Kaipa, Devil Doll, Ritual) that is
definitely Prog. I certainly hope we're back talking about Prog here before
it comes.
