| subject: | com.sys deinstalling its |
I found the com.sys parameters that should stop it from deinstalling
itself. An extract from the command reference is below. It was
staring me in the face as I was talking to you, but I couldn't see the
forest for the trees.
To install an asynchronous device (a modem that sometimes
works poorly and causes numerous unexpected interrupts) and
choose to ignore all the interrupts, type the following in the
CONFIG.SYS file:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\COM.SYS (2,02f8,4,I)
^ ^
(The important thing here being the 0 in front of the address, and the
fourth I parameter.)
To install the same device as above but choose to shut down
all the COM ports when more than 1000 consecutive unexpected
interrupts occur, type the following in the CONFIG.SYS file:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\COM.SYS (2,02f8,4,D)
or
DEVICE=C:\OS2\COM.SYS (2,2f8,4)
^^^^^^^
So as can be seen, COM.SYS is currently defaulting to the 'deinstall
is more than 1000 consecutive unexpected interrupts' option.
Perhaps this might make things a bit more predictable, when bastards
like me come along and drop carrier.
'tnt, Amfony.
