subject: OS/2`s Resource Manager

Hello Mike,

10.01.95 07:25, you wrote a message to Jon Guthrie:

JG>> What is it? Where can I get documentation on making my

Before I try to get access to "The DUDE" from Germany, would
someone please explain what "resource manager" means?

Or better yet, let me say what I am looking for:

I wrote a Device Driver (ADD) for our SCSI controller. But I never found a
way to tell OS/2 to hide the register/memory of the controller from OS/2
(IOPL) and DOS programs. Except by writing a Virtual Device Driver which
can't be part of a *.ADD file and doesn't affect OS/2 programs. So anyone
wanting to, may crash the system (e.g. by loading the DOS device driver [as
a TSR]).

Will the "resource manager" handle those problems?

Hoping for a positive answer,
	Vitus
