The DIMM will fit in a regular envelope... postage would probably be a buck
or so,  (I don't think it's worth the bother at the moment though, I've got
enough 32M dimms) and all my other (working) systems take 72 pin simms.
it's probably cost more in money conversion and other hassles.

only if you use both the + and - terminals, if you only use the + and the
centre tap you'll get the same 15V as before.

take it out and hook it up in series with a headlamp and the car battery.
if it doesn't go out after a few seconds it's not working.

(60w dipped beam is about 5A so should trip the breaker pretty quickly)

 if it's not working you couild try banging it on the table a bit...

use an 20W lightbulb, (like an indicator lamp) they have a lower resistance
when cold which allows for quicker charging while still providing a
current-limiting function if a fault develops.
