That's poor advice. A "standard modem" will not use the _correct_ .INF file,
and chances are DUN will display the DTE speed rather than the DCE speed as a
result.

I have not seen Win95 write to NVRAM - in fact, the init string it stores is
a full string. It does _not_ init with ATZ, and therefore would have no
reason to write to NVRAM.
