You can get HW's anywhere. You can get TX's only from a few specialty
outfits. If you could get the TX from Cabellas it would get a yawn here.
I call the consensus of the airgun public the flavor of the month. The
amount of hype for a specific model has a lot to do with how many folks
have bought it and are looking to get after purchase positive feedback
so they can hear that they did good. The HW's are old business that just
keep doing the job as advertised. It seems that Air Arms is the first
serious threat to the long established HW reign as the superior
hardware. It's to bad that HW hasn't responded to this threat with some
innovations that would show people that they do care about staying on
top. The TX is really just a well sorted HW77 thanks to the efforts of
Ivan Hancock and his developement of the Mach II rifle. The pro-elite
bears a striking ressemblance to the Mach I rifle. See a trend here. The
Air Arms stuff is good. They know who to flatter so to speak. Now I see
where a special Jim Maccari inspired, Ken Turner Tuned, Nick J. stocked
special edition Pro-sport will be made for a $2500 ticket. Wow could
this be a Mach II alike. What innovations will these guys come up with
next. I guess it is pretty timely after Tom told everyone about the
unobtainable $4000 Mach II in last Letter. I think that Tom likes to
help out his buddy Jim as much as possible but don't you think this is a
little obvious.
