I was over to my landlady's house the other day 
and there in all it's splendor stood a
GHz Hewlett Packard with gobs of memory
a huge hard drive, cable modem and every imaginable
gadget and gizmo attached.
So I sit down expecting a wonderous and fast net experience
and what do I find?
The blasted computer running Win XP at a GHz  with cable modem 
is three times slower than my 66 Mhz 486 running Windows 3.1 
and a 28,800 dialup!!!
I got up and walked away from the damn thing being
too impatient to wait for a web page to load.
You couldn't give me a copy of XP after seeing that _performance_.
Why people buy crap like that astounds me.
