Redundancy is funny. If you take out the nodes, where you can switch
traffic from one line to another (redundancy) then both lines are down.
Basically it looks to me like what is being bombed is the huge nodes. That
one they showed on TV had a small hole in the side and the explosion
collapsed the ground around and the streets near that building. That
suggests to me they ripped the node out by the roots (you can't fix that
kind of damage without rebuilding everything).

I checked when they did that and Uruklink which was up prior to that went
down that night, it's gone, no more iraq internet. I have to believe the
phone and other communications systems were affected similarly.
