Chris, I thought I would send you some e-mail to see if this thing really 
works. Well, does it ? As to racing on Lake Ontario the answer is yes. 
Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how one looks at it, we don't race 
very often-just EYC and Harbor Fest in Oswego. I have found that my 
enthusiasum for racing has waned these past few years. I would in most cases 
rather go cruising. I do find though that once we are at a race that all the 
old excitement of racing is there and we have a very good time.
        This past summer Phillip and I raced with Harold Weisberg on his J-24 
and it was a riot. J/24 are still super boats to race on. (even though Harold 
made an unannounced jibe and smacked me in the back of the head hard enough 
to knock my glasses off-no blood so I was OK)
