Hi Mike, >It looked at though it might have been faster than plain old Ultra-SCSI, >even without RAID. They were faster in a server as they could/can hand synchronous speeds as well as multiple users due to the onboard cache, which is what the RAM's for. In a single user setup your milage would vary depending on what you were using in relation to disk access and concurrent read/writes. Also depends on the paramenters set in the card BIOS, the type of RAID you chose to use etc but I do know that these 300Gb SATA disks I'm now using are just as fast if not faster but then the space the heads have to travel is greatly reduced in relation to the much smaller SCSI disks I use to use. SCSI still wins hands down for mean time between failures. >It's funny I had Googled on the FCC ID, but that site isn't what it used >to be [FCC, not Google] and just about drew a blank as regards matching >the actual card. I never enter the last few characters in :-) Cheers Ian Manners http://www.os2site.com/ Outside a disco: SMARTS IS THE MOST EXCLUSIVE DISCO IN TOWN. EVERYONE WELCOME Yahoo!
