My main complaint about basketball is that there is no scoring drama as an
invidiual basket is next to meaningless ... football, baseball and
"soccer" don't suffer from this design flaw. Also in 8 games out
of 10 you can safely ignore the first 59 minutes and just tune in to see
who scores the most in the final minute ... so what's the point of watching
at all?

Perhaps it's one of those sports that's more fun to play than watch,and
perhaps best appreciated by those who have played it growing up. Arguably
soccer is a bit like that too, my spouse thinks it is boring but I love
watching it (I played a lot as a kid).
