I missed this, but a friend sent it to me. It's from CNET.COM, from a recent
review of over 2 dozen 33.6Kbps modems:
--begin--
You may think a modem is just a basic tool. But add fax, voice, and fancy
telephone features, and suddenly modems aren't so simple anymore. Although
every one of these modems performs fundamental tasks identically--such as
faxing and 33.6-kbps communications--they turn out to be very different.
Some, such as the Paradyne Comsphere 3825+ or the Motorola Premier 33.6,
are designed for specific, high-end direct communications, and are ideal
for corporate environments. Others, such as the Cardinal MVPV34I or the
Zoom Faxmodem V.34I Plus, are basic but cheap desktop models. Then there's
our performance prizewinner, the U.S. Robotics Courier V.Everything/V.34,
for when nothing but the fastest will do. And Mac users should check out
the Global Village TelePort 33.6 Internet Edition, a modem designed
specifically with them in mind.
But our all-around choice is the Diamond SupraSonic 336V+, a fast data
modem with full-featured fax and voice mail capabilities. We especially
like the hands-free headset that comes with it, although a modem that's so
voice-aware could use simultaneous voice/data support.
--end--
There ya go! Kinda nice to see someone saying good things about Supra in the
press. (Since we get ignored so often over the high-priced boys.)

... I'm gluing all my bills together. It's a mail bonding thing.
