ST> SB> I read very indiscriminately. BRT was OK - passed the time
tolerably
ST> SB> well, but I'm not eagerly awaiting the next.
ST>
ST> I do believe I will pass on it then.
Okay. The cat, Robert Johnson, was probably the best element of the
book.
ST> SB> Probably should give this one a miss, too, if that's the case - same
ST> SB> idiosyncratic characters.
ST> Yes, that was my problem with the first, didn't like the characters.
Seems to
ST> be a love it or hate it series of books.
The Mallory character is interesting to me, but not very sympathetic.
ST> SB> Read "Snow Falling ..." It was a nice change of pace but
verhyped,
ST> SB> I thought.
ST>
ST> I am enjoying it so far (only on page 60 or so). It's a quicker read
than I
ST> thought it would be though.
You sound wistful about that ....
ST> SB> Just started Minette Walters'first, "The Ice House. There's a
ST> SB> two-parter currently underway on PBS' "Mystery!" based on her book
ST> SB> "The Sculptress."
ST> Yes, I am taping it as I have not yet read "The Sculptress" and like to
read
ST> the book first (so I can complain that the movie wasn't as good)
ST> I read "The Dark Room" and enjoyed it.
This is the first of hers that I've read and I will likely miss the
second part of the two-parter. Bummer. Maybe I'll end up reading
it, too!
