BL> I've got an de-installer... me. I am a pre-emptive
BL> de-installer; I get the bastards going in.

DM> What about DLL's though ? How do you detect which
 DM> arcanely-named DLL's are relevant to what program ?

With a hex editor, they usually name them up front, but I get them
going in using the date stamp. The ones that drive me bonkers are the
self extracting EXE files with DLL's hidden inside... DLL's using the
same name as ones I have already. In that case, I hoik them.

I loaded a fuckwit program that installed BWCC.DLL unbeknownst and
totally rooted Borland Pascal and BC++. I'm a bit slow, but I do
learn...

 DM> I cleaned out dozens of DLL's a few weeks ago. I think I
DM> deleted some pertinent ones, as I had to re-install windows. It
DM> was worth it though. I reclaimed about 20 megs or so of HDD
 DM> space. Thieving bastards !!

If you look inside the DLL with a hex editor it usuallty names it
there. As I said, the only way to control it is stop them going in...

 BL> The sheep attacked! It's a trained attack-sheep! Agressive
 BL> bastard of a thing...

DM> Ahh, a true rarity in these parts. A SAS. Special Assault
 DM> Sheep.

  ROFL!!

BL> I thought sheep were more like... sheep.

DM> Sheep are very useful and multifunctional these days. Not like
DM> the sheep that you are used to in the past, or on Splong.

Isn't this Splong? Have the Space Gypsies grabbed me again? I know
it's not Earth because I saw Charlie Perkins calling Cathy Freeman a
racist bastard on TV and no one on Earth is that crazy!

Come to think of it... it's getting even a bit crazy for Splong. I
saw Richard Milat explain the backpacks in his garden shed as
"hearsay" evidence. On Splong, backpacks are mostly silent.

Bob
