i strongly suggest that if you can get a "boot disk", do it and keep
it...
doing a verified clean floppy boot is just about required when
recovering from virus infections... without it you'll have a whole lot
of trouble with stealth viruses and various other memory resident
viruses..
the av products you had before probably would have done the job if
they'd been used properly in that manner...
