In ancient pre-IDE times it was done by using DEBUG g=c800:5 or similar.
This brought up the hd-controller bios ll formatting and surface defect
mapping utility. Some hdc's had virtual drive splitting but in this case
the esdi hdc has a partitioning utility though it seems stuck at 32M.
In thinking about the problem a bit more, the one thing I might try is
to create a single volume for the whole drive and hope dos 6.22 can
partition it from there.
