WL> Sounds like the problem we're having with
WL> antibiotics.
And the problem we've had with wheat. We stay one
season away from a total wheat blight. Botanists
have been hybridizing virus-resistant wheat as fast
as they can for *years* because the virus mutates
so fast, last year's crop is susceptible this year.
JP>> ...RENT A CAT!! ;>
WL> I can see it now. Shelters everywhere will
WL> rent cats for a weekly rate that's carefully
WL> calculated to be just slightly more than one-
WL> quarter of the adoption fee. "Of course,
WL> you'll probably need to keep Fluffy for at
WL> least a month to make sure you get the new
WL> fleas as they hatch out...or, if you want to
WL> save a little money...."
Won't last. Corporate interests will notice, get
involved, and the shelters will suffer. :< Soon
the Japanese will develop an instant cat...just add
water (ala fairy-shrimp and crystal trees).
