AT> However, this part sounds like news with a twist. All I know is New
AT> York. It was the world's epicenter at first, but now officials for the
AT> state of New York are claiming a victory with flattening the curve.
AT> This is the most liberal blue state in all of the USA (in my opinion.)

New York has done great because of the leadership of its Governor. It
did the right things and has squashed the virus outbreak there. You
should be thankful to the leadership for that.

AT> Trump gave state governors autonomy with handling coronavirus. Some
AT> states have done poorly with reopening (Arizona, Florida, Texas) but
AT> the media (and Democrats) prefer to blame Trump instead of blaming
 AT> Democratic state governors.

You call it giving them autonomy -- I call it abandoning them to their
own devices. Trump made the states bid against each other for critical
supplies, thus driving up the prices. He could have and should have
made a national unified effort and distribution. He even had FEMA
stealing equipment that states had ordered and paid for.

AT> How would the USA react if Trump were to deploy our military to
AT> enforce mask wearing? Or if he used the military to enforce social
 AT> distancing?

That would never have been necessary. Instead he should have not told
people not to wear masks nor practice social distancing. His constant
repeat of that refrain is one of the reasons that so many of the Red
states are now following his advice -- to the detriment of their
citizens and at the cost of their lives.

AT> Trump is "in favor" of reopening schools, but again, he's not
AT> dictating school openings; he's letting the governors control school
AT> reopenings. When those governers do a bad job, fingers will be pointed
AT> at Trump because his voice sounds like Sinatra.

Again -- a little bit of leadership and acceptance of responsible
leadership and paying attention to his scientific advisors would have
gone a long way. Instead what is happening is that some governors are
forbidding local jurisdictions to take appropriate safety measures.
