Sounds like time to post a message in the OS/2 echo to find out what went
wrong. In the meantime, boot up your system off of the installation disks
until you get to the first screen where F3=Command Prompt appears. If you
are using the CD-ROM change directories to ..\DISK_3. If you are using disks
(why?) then insert Disk 3 in the drive you booted the system from. Then type
in
FORMAT x: /fs:hpfs /l (I assume that you are using HPFS). x: is replaced
with the drive you want to format. This will cause a Long Format to take
place where the drive is checked and cleared. Some problems disappear with
this, and most "bad" drives fail a long format as all of the HOTFIX sectors
get used and the drive cannot provide anymore.
