TS> Even Fender Rhodes piano maintenance was bad enough....
A Leslie has 2 rotating motorized electromechanical cones, plus tube driver
amps. A Fender Rhodes was an electromechanical portable piano, predating any
synthesizers with good enough wave tables to sound decent.
Drum kits by comparison are pretty straightforward. Those other devices have
a
high enough ongoing maintenance cost so as to end up fairly expensive
ompared
to initial costs. Use of either has become rare, outside a few bands trying
to
retain historical accuracy.
