KS> All data on CD is in digital form,
pardon me/us for not being so verbosely explicit as to even go so far as to
describe the binary directory and catalog layout and storage method... of
course it is digital! ;)
KS> Applies to Audio and video as well, even when the recording had

KS> So all output coming from a CD, DVD etc is digital. And at a

you might be surprised to learn that that is rather false... years ago, i
was developing a sound util that redirected everything thru the computer's
built in speaker :) i was in the final stages of development when i
discovered another driver that did the same...
KS> So when the mobo (and player) have a way to send the digaital info

i don't do SATA so that isn't even part of the/my "argument" as
far as i'm concerned...
KS> I'm a bit surprised eCS supports already this method.
i don't know why... surely the datastream contains the aproporiate
multimedia indicators that the object oriented code detects and directs to
the sound processing stuff... i mean, sheesh... we all know so much about
everything else, ya know ;)
