G'day Keith,

Replying to a message of Keith Richardson to Jeff Green on 15-07-96:

JG>>> It's a slower connection than I'm used to (at least during the day),
JG>>> but as I took the deal that works out at $1 an hour, I figured it
JG>>> was worth a look. So far I'm happy with it.

KR> what sort of performance do you get out of them?

During the day it can be as low as 200 cps on a 28.8 connection. During the
afternoon/early nightime it seems to hang around the 1200-1500 cps mark.
These have been worst case scenarios so far.

Late at night it can be quite a bit faster ie I grabbed quake 0.91 plus the
0.92 just after midnight one night (~9.4 megabytes) in about 45 minutes (I
think).

I find this acceptable for the price as I usually end up with two or three
ftp or www sessions going at once while checking on the news/mail :-) If
all else fails I push the ftp/www sesions to the background and read some
Fido news/mail while waiting for one of the sessions to finish downloading.
