Sure, I just wanted to make sure you really
had proven it was the driver that carefully.

Certainly rather odd. Presumably just a warty driver which exhibits
its wart in that particular motherboard/cpu/IDE port config etc.

The Soundblaster CDROM drivers are pretty relaxed about what they will
run on CDROM wise, mainly coz Creative uses a variety of OEM drives.

Which is pretty convincing confirmation of a fucked driver which
just exhibits its wart in that particular hardware config.

Yeah, I dont even bother with those DOS CDROM drivers
except for a minimal DOS boot floppy which can see the
CDROM drive for absolute last resort disaster recovery.
