TW> Adn the DEATH Penality is a GREAT Gene Pool Cleaner. TW> I have a throry that there is not an inexhaustable supply of those that TW> desire ti Harm or Injure others. And simple by REALLY emiminationg them TW> we CAN have a better Wrold. Well, I have a few problems with this. First, I don't believe that I have the right to take someone else's life unless it is to save my own or someone else's life. Second, we hear too often of someone found innocent, sometimes before and sometimes after they have been executed. Life without parole would allow them the opportunity to prove innocence; but, failing that, they would remain in jail. Third, it (currently) costs so much to put someone on Death Row that it is cheaper to jail them for life. I could live with "life without parole" (with a few changes). TW> OF course this view is not shared by the Bleeding Heart Liberal Fools TW> that have gotten us into the MESS we have to live with. :-( :-( I have to agree with you there. Our "compassion" is just the opposite. It's kind of like with kids. Doing it "for" them instead of letting them do it themselves, or being soft when punishment is due, or reducing or eliminating the natural consequences of their actions seems like compassion; but really it's cruel because they are not being allowed to grow up and it encourages wrong behavior.
