CA>WC> The landlady told me it took a long time to boot but I CA>WC> didn't attempt that as I don't expect to live long enough CA>WC> to see that through to the finish. CA>I do think everyone using XP has mentioned it does take awhile CA>to come alive, yes. I'm trying to configure windows XP to do two things - both taskbar related, and wondered if ya'll could help. Firstly, I'd like more programs to appear on the taskbar when I start them instead of having them wrap automatically after so many are started. (with win9x and even win2000, I believe you could get near 16 or so programs before they wrapped). Now with XP, I couldn't possibly get ten. Secondly, DOS windows automatically become windows when a task starts flashing (trying to get your attention). I know we've discussed flashing windows before, but I wondered if there was a way to turn this "feature" off - - windows 2000 does not do that. [your full screen DOS windows will remain that way until you switch back]. Thanks in advance!
