TM> Of course he did. He was trying to shift blame away from himself,
TM> and put it all on Hirschbeck, using his dead son as a tool.
You must have seen a different interview than the rest of us.
TM> AH> Alomar was giving his opinion as to why Hirschbeck was not the
TM> same AH> person he used to be. Hirschbeck has been known to have an
TM> overly quick AH> trigger for years - Alomar said what many players
TM> and managers feel; that AH> the tragic loss of his son affected
TM> Hirschbeck's personality.
TM> Alomar has had three years to give this opinion. What a coincidence
TM> that it comes out just after he spit on him. I'm sure the two
TM> incidents are unrelated.
Alomar had just been tossed by Hirschbeck (for the second time this
year, and the ONLY two times he'd been ejected at all) and was asked why
he was ejected. If a player gets tossed twice by the same ump, and by no
others all year, then perhaps there is personal animosity involved.
Alomar had until this debacle showed proper class and baseball etiquette
all year. He's not the criminal you would like to believe he is.
