Yes, but the point is that if you do a poor job of your electrical work, it
might bite you later. "Legal" doesn't make it "right", and that cuts both
ways, of course; a poor job that should otherwise meet code can cause
trouble, even if it does look to be legal.

Yes, DC power is always a PITA, you can see this in an automobile. Extra care
is required with all connections. As you point out, the higher current with
low-voltage power systems makes things much more critical also.
