I have a Nakamichi LX-3 but most of their cassetted decks have the same
specs - 20-20,000 HZ with ANY tape and S/N ratios that are about 5-7 db
quieter than the competition. I often confuse tapes from CD's for the
original. The LX-3/LX-5 and LX-7 came out in 1982 or so. Current
models are the DR1, DR2 and DR3. My unit has their asymetrical diffused
resonance dual capstan drive transport. The more you pay, the better
the refinement - but basically most naks are the base deck with more
refinement rather than more bells and whistles.
