Do you run MSGAPI38 as a static library or a DLL? If the former, I'm not
interested. If the latter, then does the DLL work with all over
applications that use MsgAPI (ie., is it a plug-in replacement)?

I'll get around to it .. eventually.

Not good when you don't have any idea what you're doing. InfoMagic's
"Linux Developers Resource" (brilliant CD set, BTW - it's the one
I use) contains a few distributions - in fact, all three of Slackware, Red
Hat and Debian, plus others (predominantly Japanese).
If you installed from disc 1, then it's likely to be Slackware (again, the
one I use). I've tried Red Hat 3.0.3 (ie., "Picasso"), but
wasn't impressed. I have Slackware running across four machines (two
Pentiums, two i386 machines), work and home combined.

Wadda waste .. when are you going to install LILO? I boot straight from
OS/2's Boot Manager - ie:
Power Up
|
+-- OS/2 Boot Manager
|
+-- DOS
|
+-- OS/2
|
+-- LILO
|
+- Various Linux Kernels
Much neater than than booting from floppy (faster, too). At work I don't
have OS/2, so I just run LILO from the MBR (instead of from the Linux
superblock, as at home).

You're doing something wrong (like, not installing LILO).

Linux kernels 2.x now support Windows 95's VFAT, too. I'm about to upgrade
one of my work machines as I'm getting sick of the shitty Intel
EtherExpress driver ("board has gone to sleep - kicking it..").

The next release of Slackware is Version 3.1.0, called (oddly enough)
"Slackware '96" (were'd they get that idea?!). It will be on the
August 1996 release of the InfoMagic set.
Cheers..
