Let me assume for the moment you don't fully understand the mechanics of
sending us files. First, my system is in Charlotte, NC. I am not local
to you, but am posting in an international echo you are tied into via
Fidonet. If you are not using an OLMR, you will find it difficult to
send your info. You will further notice, someone else is currently
posting Roswell files into the echo, which may be a duplicate of your
own information.
The BBS you are logged onto at this time has a number of "subs." This
"sub" is an international echo, and is read all over the world. One of
the rules of this UFO echo is, you must state your real name at some
place in the body of your message. It may be you are new to BBSing,
and don't know how things operate. Am I correct?
When you applied for membership to the BBS you are writing from, you
gave the sysop your name and address and phone number. All I need is
your name signed at the end of your messages. It is one of our rules.
If you are in doubt, ask your sysop, Eric Pfaffinger. For instance,
you are allowed to use your handle in Eric's local subs, but not in
most of the Fidonet subs.
Regards,
Jack
P.S. Ask your sysop if he has an off-line mail reader you can download
from his system. It will make life easier for you, as you can download
your various subs with all their messages in a minute or 2, and not have
to spend your whole hour on-line, missing some of the messages, etc.
With an OLMR, you can take your own time answering your mail at your
leisure, then uploading your mail packet to the BBS in less than a
minute.
