JdBP> I've saved your post for reference, and will look at putting more
JdBP> information into the Glossary at some point.

The part numbers change with each issue, but I have the complete set for
now. Packaged product part numbers are prefixed with "P" before
the part number of the disk, or of the first disk in a multi-disk set.
Here are the current numbers, directly off of the disks:

DevCon (base), vol. 5, Disk 1 of 2: 83G9755 ("Warp Special Edition")
DevCon (base), vol. 5, Disk 2 of 2: 83G9648
DevCon for LAN Systems, vol. 1, Disk 1 of 1: 83G9655
DevCon Device Driver Kit, vol. 1, Disk 1 of 1: 83G9747
DevCon Software Shopper, vol. 1, Disk 1 of 1: 83G9659

The following are still available:

DevCon (base), vol. 4, Disk 1 of 2: 06H2024
DevCon (base), vol. 4, Disk 2 of 2: 06H2025
DevCon (base), vol. 3, Disk 1 of 2: 06H1971
DevCon (base), vol. 3, Disk 2 of 2: 06H1972
DevCon (base), vol. 2, Disk 1 of 1: 82G4701
DevCon (base), vol. 1, Disk 1 of 1: 71G5385

The following are superseded:

DevCon (base), vol. 5, Disk 1 of 1: 83G9647
IBM Device Driver Source Kit (now DDK), various issues: 71G3703
IBM Professional Developer's Kit for OS/2 (now DevCon): none (all beta)

The part numbers for the DDSK are issued as if it is a serial publication,
meaning that one issue supersedes another. For example, S71G-3703-00 is
version 1.0, S71G-3703-01 is version 1.1, and so forth, although only three
were ever issued through version 1.2 (-02) before the conversion of the
DDSK to the DDK. IBM does not use serial publication numbers for the
DevCon ROMs because they do not supersede each other; the OS/2 2.11 service
pack is only on DevCon 3, for example.

JdBP> It would help enormously if someone could supply the part numbers for
JdBP> the various DevCon CDs, so that I can include them. Unfortunately, my
JdBP> IBM software catalogue dates from before DevCon 5, and only lists the
 JdBP> one DevCon CD-ROM.

Happy to help!

JdBP> By the way, the Pros and Cons list is nearing its first birthday.

Congratulations! It's an important service.
