Hi Paul
PE> Ok Roy, what does this do on your stupid system?
RM> Fails to uudecode. Says "Nothing to uudecode in line 295", even

PE> Paul.
That explains it - you're using an archaic version. The one you
sent (which worked, btw, ta) is version 5.10 by Richard Marks dated
15/1/92, the one I have (and have used before) is version 5.32 by
Richard Marks dated 19/9/94.
Emx isn't anywhere in the path, I've kept it in the local directory.
Here are the results (batchfile redirected to file, file edited
for clarity):
/*--------*/
REM emx has been renamed to make it unavailable
dir emx*.*
emx2.exe 50511 10/12/95 16:19
REM test run with no emx
zatest io2.c
emx not found
REM make emx available
copy emx2.exe emx.exe
d:\c\indent\emx2.exe => d:\c\indent\emx.exe
1 file copied
REM test run with emx available
zatest io2.c
argc is 2
arg 1 is io2.c
REM that worked, let's try the real thing
indent io2.c
GNU indent 1.9.1
Usage: indent file [-o outfile] [options]
indent file1 file2 ... fileN [options]
-bacc | -nbacc blank lines around conditionals (-nbacc)
-T add to type keyword list
REM just printed the help screen. io2.c unaffected.
REM just for fun, let's try it with RSX in disguise
del emx.exe
Deleting d:\c\indent\emx.exe
1 file deleted 57,344 bytes freed
copy rsx.exe emx.exe
d:\c\indent\rsx.exe => d:\c\indent\emx.exe
1 file copied
REM doesn't work, no DPMI server loaded
zatest io2.c
loader v1.0 : (c) Rainer Schnitker
rsx_32 loader error: No DPMI-host found!
REM this bit done in a different session with QDPMI loaded
zatest io2.c
WARNING: emx 0.9b or later required
argc is 2
arg 1 is io2.c
/*--------*/
Now what?
Cheers
