We have found that Franklins offers a better deal than the CML Discount Card
on a comparism to regular Franklin Prices to regular Coles Prices less Discount.
There is not that much in it though. (We are a family of 4 (with two children
aged 6 + 2)). I guess my point is your not going to get the lowest price with
the discount card so don't fall for the FLY Buys trap of focus on the prize
and not the package!
Franklins has the anoying habit of being out of stock on some lines on a
regular basis. When this occurs we take Coles as the next choice. My Wife
does well in Target with the Childrens clothes though. The value of the card
depends upon your current shopping habits and what you are prepared to
shift (in shopping habits) around to get a discount.
I think the best thing about the discount card system is the breath of
services that can be offered Supermarkets, discount stores, fashion etc. It
should be wide enough to appeal to most.
I still think CML presents some good buying in the current downturn if your
for the medium to long term outlook.
DISCLAIMER ** Both myself and my Wife are shareholders in CML.
** I am not a broker or investment advisor.
Cheers ,,, Mike
