CA> While the majority of persons are being protected from some of CA> these mistakes there are people who continue to grind zinc CA> molds and breath the dust and others who weld the zinc and CA> breathe those fumes in the prototype plastic injection mold CA> tooling industry. Wood patternmakers and model makers now using CA> fake wood made from a type of foaming plastic are experiencing CA> six times the rate of rectal cancers compared to the rest of CA> the population and I can only imagine how many others are CA> exposed to carcinogens in an effort to sustain themselves and CA> their families. CA> I find it difficult to impose a slow and painful death on CA> others so that I can just keep everything as it was and not CA> have to sacrifice by doing without. While I agree with this sentiment, I don't agree that we should force people to NOT do things that we think are bad for them "for their own good" so to speak. I should have the choice to breathe in zinc or asbestos or any other poison that I so choose. I have the right to be wrong. The idea that it costs us money through insurance or charity is only an excuse. If it's really true, and it's really an issue, change the insurance or charity. Don't try to take rights away that are not yours to take. Don't try to take away the consequences of my behavior. Don't try to take away my right to be wrong. TTYL.
