 Probably bit of a technological era thing here - you were prolly bought 
 up in the TV era, and therefore the TV's have respect for you, being of 
 similar age.
 
 Computers, on the other hand, are another technological era more 
 recent than TV's, and since that means that you are considerable more 
 older than the current generation of computers, the computers treat you 
 with scorn and contempt, rather like a teenager.
 
 Teenagers, however, don't have a problem with the older technology 
 TV's because the manufacturers build in lots of little CPU's & 
 micro controllers, and these, being close cousins to the PC, have 
 respect for your younger generation.
