Most DOS programs run fine in DOS Mode, which after all, gets all but a tiny stub of Win9x out of the way, and is essentially 'real' DOS. 2) I would expect that you would get better performance on the P120 from Win95-- version B (or later) if you have a hard drive larger than 512 MB; version A is fine on 512 MB or smaller hard drives. Win98 will run adequately on that system, but requires more drive space and takes up more memory, resulting in slower performance on older systems... in general, unless you have need to use USB peripherals (which is unlikely on a system of the P120 generation unless added in after the fact), I would recommend Win95 over Win98. 3) WinXP's minimum recommended RAM is 128 MB; I tend to recommend doubling that for good performance. I'm happier running Win2000 on systems with 128 MB.... I haven't run either on a P-200, but I was pretty happy with Win2000 on a P300 system. ... -- az: email to alan (at) zisman (dot) ca ___ MultiMail/Win32 v0.43 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: COMM Port OS/2 juge.com 204.89.247.1 (281) 980-9671 (1:106/2000) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 106/2000 633/267 |
