One word - icing.  She managed to repair things.  In one case, the piece 
he ate was in the middle of the cake; it didn't show once she had it 
assembled.
[Oh yeah,that's right - when she was cooling one of the layers, he ate a 
piece out of the middle of that!  He's still into "people food" in a big way, 
but he doesn't raid the table any more.  At least, not most of the time.
