George,
GG> I use to run a little BBS, and ran it on a very small 386 PC, and ran
GG> mostly out of DOS, not liking Windows all that much. I have never had
GG> a problem with installing a modem before, but it seems that I have ran
GG> into one, and was wondering if anyone might be able to assist me. My
GG> wife's computer is a P166, and runs Win95. She had a sierra 28.8 in
GG> it, until it mysteriously got a little fried! I want to install my
GG> old modem which I had used for my BBS, and CommProgs, a Zoltrix v.34+
GG> 33.6. I have installed it into her PC, but I can't seem to get
GG> windows to recognize it! It would seem to me, that Win95 (with all of
GG> it's 'crap') would be able to detect the thing, and make me a cup of
GG> coffee while it's doing it!!! But it wouldn't even do the former! I
GG> do not have a driver for the modem. Is there ANYTHING that anyone
GG> might suggest I do to get Win95 to recognize my Zoltrix??? Thanks for
GG> reading, George
Install it as a "Standard" 28.8 modem, get on the InterNet and locate
the Windows95 driver. Since it's an older modem, I assume that it
actually has jumpers and the necessary hardware built onto the modem
itself. If so, it should work ok until you get the driver.
