There are linux (CUPS) drivers for several of the Brother MFC devices -
for printing and scanning.

I think the only hope for these devices (as printers) is through the
CUPS/GutenPrint porting projects that Paul Smedley is working on. Paul
has recently ported a new version of the software, I must admit I have
not yet had chance to try it with my Brother MFC620CN.

The confusion in the ecs Russian site may be baused by the section in
the handbook that refrs to using the printer with OS/2 Lan Server. In
fact what this boils down to is that the clients printing are using
Windows PCs with the windows drivers installed, the data stream can be
spooled and transferred via the LAN to the network port on the MFC.

Cheers/2
