The interface will be physically compatible. The firmware may or may not
be compatible. A bootable device on Solaris sometimes needs special
firmware. This may or may not cause problems if the drive is attached to
a PC. Kris automatically assumes it won't work. I would prefer to say we
really don't know.
The drive price looks high, but if you take out the cost of the licensed
software the drive price seems reasonable for SCSI. SCSI drives will
never be price competetive with commodity drives. They were never
supposed to be.
