True. But watch out for the 5 volt loading resistor. It has to disipate
15 to 20 watts to stabilize the voltage regulation circuitry.
In fact I picked up a 2 Ohm 25 Watt Resistor at Gateway a little while
back to play arround with using a Computer Power Supply as a 12 VDC
source. 
And interesting the last time I was ar Fry's Electronics all of the
Quality computer power supplies listed the Minimum Loading on the
box.
