Use /? at the wmic prompt.

/? I think is equal to /?:brief

/?:full  gives some more details, I think.

I haven't used wmic since I wrote the earlier message.

I just wanted to tell of my 'discovery' in case someone was interested
in trying the command out.

Unless I look at the webpage again I wouldn't remember the command
option to get the Serial Number output to the screen.   ;-)
